I just discover this little tool in the app store.

I just discover this little tool in the app store.

It lets you save the default icon from the apps, so you don’t need to save the apk and extract it.

Maybe it’s useful for someone (I posted it here because it lets you easily make a shortcut and put a default app icon…I was searching for something like this time ago)

Sorry if it’s not useful to you.

Interesting tool, this is a shame that it does not seem to be frequently downloaded.

But it just gave me an idea… Let me the night to think a bit about it and maybe tomorrow I’ll come back with something related.

Any idea what the text edits for :/ I though it might of been for the exported image size but I set it at 100 and 300 and the icon came out at 87×87.

Jay M I think it’s the percentage. So the number must be between 1,100 (bigger numbers are just 100%)

It made me think at an icon pack that would display icons from installed package, but curiously I couldn’t find the equivalent on the play store, so here is my version : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.pierrox.icon_picker

Pierre Hébert: this is exactly the feature I was searching for. I suggested to you once by email, and also here…Maybe you didn’t understand it. (I thought it as a lightning launcher new menu when selecting an icon pack…this is even better 😉

TrianguloY so it means that I forgot about it but it unconsciously it directly inspired me for this tool !!!

I prefer to keep this separate from the app because I have some ideas for future releases, such as being able to browse results from a google image search, or  maybe help 9 patch use by automatically compiling them, etc. I would like it to be a companion multi purpose image picker.

    Wow, awesome!

    I didn’t thought this will happen…just sharing a little app I found!

(P.S. I need to share more apps 😀 no, don’t worry. I’ll only share them if I know they will be useful)

Pierre Hébert I think we both know the potential an app like this have 😉

What about make a new sub-community here (or whatever the name it is) to this little tool? So we could also suggest features….well, maybe it’s not a good idea, this is Lightning launcher’s community. (Another community will be better? … I let you decide)

It could be a good idea, but later because I don’t have the bandwidth to do that at the moment. LL is already a time consuming project, and I have other projects in mind too 😉

That’s excellent Pierre! Maybe make it not show up in the app drawer?
