Is there any way to set up Lightning so that tapping anywhere outside the topmost folder (not just on empty space) will close the folder?

By default, tapping outside an open folder will activate whatever you click on. This is in contrast to any other launcher I’ve used, where tapping anywhere outside a folder closes the folder.

I love that Lightning folders are much more flexible, and this default behavior in other launchers isn’t always desirable here – but is it even possible?

I remember Lukas Morawietz updated his dim background script (play.google.com – LLScript – DimBackground) with that functionality, not sure if he updated the app or it was left on the post (from the private community, you should ask and join it, that one is a bit more active)

  2. TrianguloY nice thing. Works perfectly. Thanks a lot. :o)

I’m getting an error when I try to load this script after downloading, did I do something wrong?

I’m also new to LL for the past week, loving it so far, I’ve been die hard android user for years and I don’t know why I didn’t find out about LL sooner. You’ve been asking all the questions that have come to my mind also and how to do things that I miss from other launchers, so just wanted to comment and provide some support, keep up with all the great questions 🙂

But I’m new to scripts/LL, all I did was click the main desktop screen>scripts>load a script. Not sure if that’s how I was supposed to activate it or not.

According to the play store description:

    How to use:

open the folder for which you want to activate (or update) the script

Long press on an empty space

Select Scripts, Load a script, Dim Background

    Follow the Setup

It says script loaded successfully but still getting the error, might try going back to stable version and see if it works.
