Is there somewhere a light version, I don´t know anything more.

I can no longer follow.

This launcher is no longer usable for the normal user, the old version was better. Too bad.

I disagree … a lot of reviews say it’s for advanced users … I disagree with this also. LL caters for novices as well as advanced customisers. I consider myself a novice … I don’t write scripts … and yet I found it really easy to set up and customise. I have set my Note 3 as a gesture-based device …. love it … no other launcher that I know of can do that.

Harry Buskes yes but it’s right : for advanced users we are able to do much more in LL.

This launcher is good but it really is for advance users.

The learning curve is very steep, can we agree to that?

André Bergqvist it does say its not easy in the app description LL is more for people who want to customize there device a bit more than just changing a wallpaper, using a icon pack and a couple Zooper widgets.

stєvє chαvís We are :/ i don’t think I’ve seen you post 1 question yet.

I’m sure there’s a reason for it, maybe we just don’t know the answers, or its not possible to comment on there post I’ve seen that happen quite a few times. The other community LL users seems to be kinda dead but this one ain’t. Its just impossible to answer every question especially when Google+ fails to show the notification.

Jay M +Steve Chavis no disrespect to the developer this is not a cookie cutter launcher. This is for people who want to customize beyond that of ordinary launchers. How many others can create an entire launcher from scripts and bindings? Create your own animations, interact with other apps and launchers, pull data from the web?

I’m still a noob, but I had an idea of what I wanted my screen to look like and this launcher made it possible it wasn’t easy but I’ve gotten close to what I had imagined. I’ve been helped by several people and moderators so help is here, but you can’t ask vague questions. There some amazing templates you can try and tweak, till you understand how certain things work and then create your own.

But I do agree, there is some lacking in community involvement. But for me it’s in the share your screen post, I would luv to see more of people’s screens and info on how they created them to give others more ideas. This one designer post a new screen every couple of weeks that are just amazing! It would be great if we would break down how he created them but I understand that it’s a business for him and he puts in a lot of work to do them so ask him how to do it isn’t helping him. But asking how he created a certain elements will get a faster response.

Tbh i ignore most of the scripting questions because i either can’t help or because i know there’s pro programmers here who can help them better than i can.

Stop point questions also get ignored because i still don’t understand how to use them.

H Tuttle i agree, i think we need a place here in the community were we can share templates. We have a Tutorial section but they can be a lot of work to make/write. It takes a couple seconds to import a template and a lot can be learnt from studying how it works.

H Tuttle it depends on how much you want to learn. You can start using it as soon as it’s installed. The potential for customization is so much more than other launchers. That’s not a negative but a positive thing about the launcher.

Jay M exactly, I keep telling myself this will be the month I’ll try to figure out scripting and 6 months later still lost, lol. Stop points are counterintuitive but I’m getting a handle on it.

But to OP, questions need to be precise to get any helpful answer.

Gerd reuter, makes the amazing screens I mentioned earlier.

I don’t know, but I find LL rather easy to configure, same goes with Kustom or Tasker. Really people, all it takes is few tries, bit of reading and thinking… Just don’t be lazy ass

Carolyn Boyle completely agree! Once you get past the basics of it that’s when, for me, it gets steep, things like customviews and such. For instance, I want a notification panel that will slide out when I get a notification. It slides out once when I get one and then every 15 minutes or until I clear it LL can do it with the help of Tasker, but I just haven’t sat down and really worked on it. I know it can be done but the joy is learning how to do it! (But could use some help lol) it’s once you get to what I consider hard stuff is where it begins to get steep.

H Tuttle I’m with you. When this launcher first came out, I found myself learning huge amounts about how Android works, just by learning what the launcher could do. I felt like I was an expert, for a little while. As Pierre began adding more and more amazing features, I sometimes find myself feeling kind of dumb 🙂

In my opinion, if a feature is too complicated, just don’t use it. Advanced features don’t interfere with classic features which are quite standard, they are just additions, they don’t change the way other standard stuff work. Once you get the way to customize items and containers, you already understand the essential, scripting and things like that are bonuses.

A light version would only consist in hiding options or menu items, it won’t change the way icons are added on the screen or the way they are customized, so in my opinion it would be nothing more than tuning the expert mode, which is not an option because I already hear people complaining for removed features before trying to understand 😉

Just started using LL today and must say I do find it messy to use, and i’m actually quite familiar with techy/complex things like Tasker and KLWP. what has really just put me off is after changing all the default settings to more customised ones and deleting all the junk that comes preset with LL. LL crashed and when it restarted, it had defaulted to the original template/preset.trying to do this on a 10″ tablet and the default portrait lock is really annoying. surely auto rotate should be the default setting out of the box. I’ll give it another chance when I get time but it just seems like too much effort just to get basic/novice usage out of it.

What junk its less than 900kb if you mean the default setup it needs something on it every launcher I tried has had something on it usually its just a few apps and a dock lightning has a hint which is needed because its not like nova etc were you have 1 desktop that has about 7 pages. The themes shortcut is good to have because I can’t see many people wanting to keep the default theme, the themes shortcut gives them an idea of what’s possible and allows them to quickly change the look of the launcher. Script Editor icon also good to have if you see it on the desktop after installing the launcher your not likely to come across it in your app drawer and think wtf I didn’t install this is it dodgy were did it come from etc. Start here sidebar obviously needs to be there because it has tutorials, community link and wiki etc innit. Settings I got no idea why thats there but I’ve seen a few launchers have it by default. Backup and restore I don’t see why this is there but after reading your comment i think it would of been a good idea for you to use it before messing with any settings. Time and date to demonstrate dynamic text, page indicator because pretty much every launcher has 1. IIRC it use to be auto rotate by default, I definitely remember the icons rotating at one point.

Anyone know what happened to the default setup competition btw?
