You could put a shaded, empty panel behind the widgets. If you have a problem with them moving out of place, you could put the widget and “shadow” panel inside another panel.
Try making a panel and use a 9 patch file for panel background (assuming you can find a 9 patch file that looks the way you want) and just put the widget in the panel.
