Quick panels question for all you clever folk…

I have a single desktop with swipes to access different screens. You know, standard stuff. If, for example, I swipe down to access a screen that has a full screen panel (or atleast a large full width panel) is there any way I can then swipe back up again to get to the previous screen?

I thought that disabling vertical swipes in the panel itself may do this and the desktop gestures would overwrite it but that’s not the case.

Ideally I want a scenario where I can swipe up/down through screens and move left/right through the panels. Is this possible or is there any work around? I know I can do it using desktop bookmarks but was looking for something different.

Also, swiping away an open folder would be handy! I know you can set it at desktop level to ‘close all folders’ but being able to set a gesture per folder would be cool πŸ™‚

Admittedly I could have stuck that last bit in as a Feature Request.

Just to note that I’m in no way addicted to swiping! I’m just constantly making desktops, deleting them and starting again with different approaches πŸ™‚

For the panel swipe: I think you can place a dummy item above the panel (in the desktop, not in the panel) so you could swipe from that item.

For the folders: you can place an item to close the top most folder, or even set the gestures of the items inside the folder. I have some folders with this, and actually with the slide to close feature it’s very visual.

TrianguloY Yeah, I’ve played around with some hidden zooper widgets and that kind of works but just wondered if it was possible within LLX to keep it tidy.

With regards to the folders, good idea, will give that a go! Providing of course there isn’t a panel in said folder πŸ™‚ And you’re right, I think it’s nice to be able to flick away a folder if it slides in and out.

Stewart Fowler Hint: instead of hidden ZWs you can simply add an LL shortcut with action “do nothing”. In customize, uncheck “show icon” and “show label”. Easiest way to have an invisible item you can set any action to (tap, long tap, swipe in any direction etc).

I’ve literally just worked that out Lutz Linke after re-reading TrianguloY’s suggestion! Thanks guys πŸ™‚

Only slight niggle is that unless you have invisible swipe hotspots it disables the ability to move left and right in the panel doesn’t it?
