Couldn’t get my previous attempt to look any better so I decided to go back and edit a previous idea I had for an icon. Obviously the color the bolt can change to whatever. I couldn’t pick a color I really liked so I’ll have to mess with it a bit to find the right one and maybe update again.

I’ll see about adding a shadow. Was reading up on material design specs for shadows and colors and such earlier. Might also change up the color scheme a tad overall as well. Maybe add a border to the bolt, not sure.

Do you happen to have a link for that Josh? Can’t seem to find it on there. Just articles on new icons updated for material design.

The more I see icons, the less I like houses, the more I adhere to the concept of something different. I am sorry but I don’t like this one as much as the other one.
On a side note, I am really not a fan of material design, to say the least. My biggest complain is that it really lacks some clarity. Everything seems flat and without borders. It is too difficult to see the limits between shapes and areas.
And the worst is these new navigation bar buttons. Where is the X ? LOL
As you can see, there isn’t even a roof on the “home” icon. So in the end there is probably no need to put a roof on a launcher icon neither…

I would agree to part of that. I would like to find something to represent LLX without it being a house/home/etc. I just happened to have this on my todo list because it was really bothering how subpar my first one was.
Although honestly I really enjoy a lot of the material design and have always been a fan of the minimal look. I was planning on working on a shadow for the icon and a possible color change that I think would look nice. I still may do that but I have always been a big fan to move away from the home looking icon for this launcher.

Also, don’t be afraid to give me your opinion. I’m not one to shy away from criticism. It’ll only help to push this in the right direction and help others to understand the vision of where the icon should head.
