I thought I found an answer but now it doesn’t seem to be working.
I thought I found an answer but now it doesn’t seem to be working… What I want is a folder that when it is open, has one row of items. The widow should be one row with, say seven columns. But I want the virtual container to be a single row as well. If I move, add or remove an item, I want the other items to move strictly horizontally to adjust. If I sort the item, keep them in one row.
I used folder Settings > Current Folder Window and set width to 2000, the max, and the height to 260. Then I goto Layout and set Number of Columns to 7 and Size of Rows to 260. Finally, I go to Misc and uncheck Rearrange Items.
This does what I want MOST of the time, but everyonce in a while, everything get organized into 7 cols by n rows, n>1. It does this when I sort items, and I think, when I change certain settings.
Bulk add to files.
Bulk add to files… Can’t seem to get it to work. In the app drawer, long pressing on a folder and tapping add, allows me too add a folder or a bookmark. Everything else is greyed out. In a desktop folder, it looks like I can add anything, but it add them to the desktop, not the folder. If I open the folder, and long press the title, I can only add a folder or shortcut.
Is Lightning Launcher supposed to show up in Recent Apps?
Is Lightning Launcher supposed to show up in Recent Apps? I’m pretty sure it did not when I first started using it. And I don’t think any other launcher has shown in Recent Apps.
For a while now, when the screen times out or I hit the power button, the next time I turn it on, it goes to the home screen instead of the last app that was running. This is especially annoying during a call since my screen goes off when I put the phone to my ear. When I go to hang up, I’m at the home screen instead of the call screen. I have to re-launch the phone app, return to call in progress. Sometime I loose recent work in the app I was running. I’ve had this happen in particular with WatchMaker.
The other day, I was looking at LL’s setting. I let the screen time out, and when I turned it back on, I was still in settings. I exited and did some stuff. The next time I left an app open and the screen timed out, it went to settings rather than my home screen. It did this for a while, and started going back to the home screen.
My hypothesis is that Android is going back the most recent app that was running when the screen closes, and that happens to be LL. It may set the app back to it’s last known state, and for a bit, that was LL settings.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Is there a way to fix the size of a folder?
Is there a way to fix the size of a folder? I’m making folders that open to a single row of items and scroll horizontally. The only way I found to do this is to set, under layout, columns to the number of items I want and set rows to Automatic. Then, in order to keep a single row when I arrange the items, I un-check Rearrange Items under Misc. Then when I’m done, I can re-check it.
What I’d like is to have a folder open to a 1×6 cells panel, with each cell being the size of an icon. I want this, no matter how many rows of items I have. If I set the Layout to be 1×6, each cell is stretched to the height of the screen. It doesn’t matter if Use Desktop Size is checked or not. If I set it to automatic with say three rows, it opens to 3×6. And I have to move the items back into a single row.
Does any of this make any sense? 🙂 Thanks!
