Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a “sidebar” and a “folder” item?

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a “sidebar” and a “folder” item? They seem to me to behave exactly the same. I’d like to create a sidebar that slides out from the side, with scrolling bookmarks in it, but I can’t see how to do that.

They are the same, beside the initial configuration.

Ok guys, you see how it slides down from the top when you first add the sidebar? Well you jus have to change the position, open /close animations, and size of it… It’s kinda tricky at first but once you get it you’ll be fine… Long press on the icon or the sidebar, then folder settings, then current window.. Change the horizontal /vertical placement, then the animations, then width and height… You will probably have to play around with different settings and sizes for those to get it to just the right size and position, but the cool thing is you can stack as many as you want wherever you want and do anything with them

A “sidebar” can be made with a folder, or other ways. A folder does not have to be formatted as a side bar.

This is a bit like dynamic texts and badges. The latter is the former with a few customized options. Same for icons and labels, which are simple variations on the the classic shortcuts.

My goal was to make the “side bar” feature more easy to use, lots of people were not aware it was possible to do that, so I though that the app could at least do the boring stuff of configuring a few settings (same for badges).

Oh shit.. Forgot about beta, I was only recently able to get a payment method working where I could purchase the newest version and I’ve been stuck forever with an old one I bought on an old account and which of course got screwed up lol but where is the beta link again?

No need for beta, it’s now in the current v12.0.1 release. Batch add is available when you add items from a desktop (when the drawer is open to pick apps)

Damn, I forgot it was official now 😉

Corey Spell, in the video for LL in the play store, you can see batch add demonstrated during the part where he adds items to folder.

    Nice video, btw Pierre Hébert!

Pierre Hébert, yes it is long, but it’s a great demonstration, even to the point of being a tutorial, which seems kind of unique in the play store… Most are just eye candy, hype and bullshit 🙂

Anyway, user can exit at will, if attention span wanes.
