Just to let you know that I just setup an online tool to ease the creation of APKs. The current procedure is too difficult to use.
With this packager all you need to do is set package and template name, upload an icon and the “Template” file. Then the tool will generate a ready to build source package. You still need to build it, sign it and publish it though, but hopefully it will save the hassle of messing with the xml and Java files.
Less time on the theme, more time for… family (or any other thing) 😉
Edit: I forgot to add that my html/javascript skills are pretty low, you may expect bugs here too, lol 😉
thanks, if you refresh the page you should see a “please wait…” message under the button when you click on it, then it should disappear once the package has been generated and downloaded.
Humm… probably it has something to do with browser support 🙁 The save as dialog is based on some html5 not well supported on all browsers. I think it should work better on the PC with firefox
