I have had a seemingly random occurrence of wallpaper reverting, status bar locked, and desktop shifted down when returning to launcher from some app (g+ perhaps most commonly).

This seemed to me like mem issue, and might be related to another issue, in which sometimes when returning to launcher from some app via back key, I am brought to android recent app list instead of launcher.

About returning to the recent list:

For me this happens every time I kill the launcher within the launcher (the “I’ll be back” message)

The fix is to force kill the launcher from Android settings.

    I don’t get that result.

Actually I don’t even get the “I’ll be back” toast anymore.

I have a shortcut to kill the launcher, in a folder… Don’t know if that has any effect on it or not.

It seems the shift is the result of the status bar being displayed. Why the status bar remains locked remains a mystery. Its configuration should be kept by the system, so that switching between activities and various configuration is seamless for apps. Could it be that the issue happens when an app is launched from Lightning and the status bar is temporarily displayed at this time?

Regarding the wallpaper, is it the standard android wallpaper or is it a desktop wallpaper ? It seems to be a desktop one, with a gray system wallpaper, right? In which case it would mean that the desktop wallpaper cannot be loaded from time to time.

How do you come back to the normal state, through a manual app restart, or starting a new app then coming back home does the trick ?

Both of those do the trick…

As far as which wallpaper… Not exactly sure. I take it that is not from the default setup? I was thinking it was.

I have this issue as well. For me, it seems if I hit “home” while in an app that has the status displayed, (I almost always have the status bar hidden on my desktop), the status bar will be displayed and the system wallpaper will also be showing even if I have a desktop wallpaper and\or a tint set.

    TrianguloY, you are right!

I can reproduce this at will, by killing launcher by long press – App from app drawer.

Restarting from my desktop shortcut fixes it.

Pierre Hébert, sounds like you have figured it out anyway. 🙂

Chris Chastain for the wallpaper yes, but the recent list thing is another thing!
