These are not bugs! Just bad behavior.

1. Scrollable folders still do not open to home position.

2. I have not isolated this one and I have seen one other report of this problem. Waiting on his reply to find out if he is in a similar area.

Launcher constantly restarts, or might just close and leave me at the android recents list.

If app is open, app just dumps back to launcher, which appears fresh and not as it was left (re: panel positions, open folders, etc)

Details:

Got a new phone week before last and did a fresh install of latest beta (now on 12.6b2).

I immediately left for a week in the mountains, in an area where signal was weak to non-existent, AND on a state line that is also time zone line (us, eastern and central) AND when there WAS a weak signal, it would jump from roaming to home network constantly. Also this would change the time on my Moto 360 watch, I finally realized!

This behavior has appeared to stop since my little holiday has ended, and I’m thinking this is related to the new feature of launcher restart on time change.

This made using my device for non-cell data related things (my only option in that situation) extremely frustrating, whether I was just lying in bed making a new home screen setup, or designing a new smart watch face, listening to locally stored music, or especially driving around the area with nav on.

I realize this may be a rare situation, but I think the auto restart thing is not a good solution.

I wish I had thought of this while I was there, so I could have isolated the problem. Hell, maybe it was unrelated, but that’s all I’ve been able to come up with.

About 1: in the resumed event of the folder set it to zoom 100p

Thank you. If that works, I’ll do that as a workaround. Should not be necessary though.

TrianguloY yes I know that too, but when you boot the phone (or restart LL I think), the first time you open the folder, the resume event doesn’t trigger….. 🙁

It’s just that there’s no point in the home position icon if it means nothing.

Chris Chastain changing that behavior is not a good idea. You should know that.

Elderon Analas, could the time zone thing be your problem also?

TrianguloY please enlighten me. I can see no logical reason for it.

I’m having the Launcher closes an App issue and just goes to the Homescreen as of Late… Driving me crazy.. Never had this issue before. Anyone else?

not sure if you read all the complains that were made when Pierre fixed that ‘bug’. He needed to restore it. And this was less than a month ago (if i’m not wrong)

Ha! No kidding? I think he fixed it on my earlier complaint then.

I’ve been out of commission for a couple weeks, maybe a little longer.

I can’t imagine what problem it could possibly cause. I’ll try to look back on what I missed.

TrianguloY , ok I found it. It was 2 weeks ago.

I completely skipped that update while I was out of commission.

But really, it was only one guy that didn’t get that the home icon was 0,0 and apparently had his icons arranged at some other random position.

Was that really the only reason this behavior was reverted?

Btw, I’ve been testing your great suggestion of zoom 100p on the folder’s resumed event.

It works, of course, but often it’s too slow. Don’t know why, but on occasion the folder movement will lag enough that I hit the wrong app… Or have to wait for it a little.

Chris Chastain that explains you asked again, but I think it was more than one, check the users community too.

    Is it animating the movement?

Try with this little small script in the resumed event instead:

    LL.getEvent().getContainer().setPosition(0,0,1,false);

    Thanks, that’s better.

After a while, I notice that I have to open folders twice for it to work (I assume after launcher gets dumped), so the script isn’t a very good solution either.

I guess I could use a version of your container bookmark script in the load event of desktop?

Chris Chastain no sir, time zone is not a problem for me. I live in WV, pretty much in the middle of EDT so I’m not gonna be crossing time zones anytime soon.

Chris Chastain at least I’ve at least narrowed down that it was LL causing my problem, too bad I only figured it out after a factory reset.

Chris Chastain set it in the loaded event too, might help

Regarding the folder position I am afraid that I can’t find another solution than this new folder setting.

Yes, the launcher is now restarted upon time zone changed, updating internal dates without a restart is not a feasible thing. Maybe the app should just be stopped instead.
