LLX keeps losing ‘connectivity’ with one of my apps.

LLX keeps losing ‘connectivity’ with one of my apps. By this I mean that at random times when I launch it from the folder the shortcut lives in, LLX tells me it can’t find the app and I have to reselect it.

The app in question hasn’t updated in a while and I’ve not changed anything else in the folder. In addition it always seems to be the one app only.

Once selected it seems to be fine for a while until its not again.

Any ideas?

Delete the icon, and then add it back.

This message is shown when the app cannot be launched, whatever the reason is. 99.9% of the time this is because the app is not installed (or has been updated) but there may be other reason such as a permission error.

But what I don’t catch is why it would work upon selection and stop to work after a while without update.

Is it a app or a shortcut ? An app is a static “name” while a shortcut can contain data that are used by the target app and might be invalidated later.

Or could it be that the target app uses some kind of enable/disable mechanism ? To explain: a package can provide several “entry poinst”, generally only one is provided to be displayed in the home screen, but this can be more, and this “icons” can be enabled/disabled. Could it be that the target app switches between several versions?

One thing to test maybe: instead of replacing the shortcut, try to add another one and over the time do the old one work again ?

But I forgot to ask a simple question: which app is it?

Pierre Hébert it’s just a normally installed everyday news app  that does nothing clever: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cincinnati.CincyMobile&hl=en. It was last updated 2/19 and I’ve had the issue twice since then (including last night).

Installed just like any other app, added to the folder using Add Item::App.

If\when it happens again I’ll try what you suggested and report back.
