You’re missing the point. Hold you device in portrait orientation. Then turn it 90 degrees to landscape orientation. Now you’ll see part of the pane you were looking at in portrait as well as part of an adjacent one. LL should be smart enough to show you all of the pane after a change in rotation.

Set your rows and collums to a fixed number and not pixel width and you probably wont have that problem.

In all the time I have used LL I have never had that problem. But I dont use free mode and that could be part of your problem as well. I have my rows set to 12 and collums set to 5.

I don’t use Free Mode either. Go to any pane other than the Home Pane and change the orientation. You’ll see what I mean.

I see what you meant. Only tried it on the home screen.

It’s a bug, but it doesn’t seem bother any other LL users.

Well, this is not a bug. Simply this is a bit more complex than it seems (not on a technical side).

Most people don’t bother because (I think) most people don’t rotate their device. Those who rotate their device may certainly want to use the dual position indeed. So in the end the fact that a portrait page doesn’t match a landscape page is usually not a problem, and snapping to the nearest corner would actually be a problem.

That said I perfectly understand that in the default configuration the current behavior is odd. It needs some improvement. Yes, it has been this way since a long time, but you know, 24h in a day is not enough 😉

Well, I hope this can be fixed eventually. Independent layouts in portrait and landscape is LL’s biggest selling point. It’s the only launcher that let’s you make the most of the space you have in either orientation.

If this gets fixed I pledge to make $20’s worth of donations. 🙂
