Didn’t have the issue with airdroid update today. But I had it with Zooper a while back. And it solved itself overtime. Meanwhile, nothing I could do to get rid of the duplicate but hide icon.

But…I pressed ‘refresh’ and now I only have the real one. Not sure why a lot of people say that you can’t get ride of duplicated ones…

    More to test:

With the ‘refresh’ I deleted the old icon (arg) but I had the airdroid widget…and it was broken. So I place another one, I made a backup and this is the data of both, in case it’s useful: (the old one is under the new in the screen)

As you can see, the name is different…could it be that, when an app change the widget name, and you have the widget placed…the bug appear?

(Oh, latest stable version, not beta)

Although I didn’t find the root cause yet, the next version will take care of removing duplicate in the next version.

Also in the latest beta there is a sequence where the icon is duplicated in the app drawer instead of being added to the home screen (or folder/panel) 🙁

The change in the component name is surely the trigger of the bug. Basically what happens is that a new app is created because it cannot be found in the list, but in the same time the older one is not removed as it ought to be. In theory shortcuts whithout matching apps should be removed, but for some reason it didn’t worked during the update, but only during the refresh 🙁

Regarding the widget LL does not touch them during the update, so if’s provider has changed it will be broken, but I don’t plan to improve this unfortunately.
