No, I don’t use any widgets. I have a homescreen where I have put nothing but few folders for apps I use most often. And when I start any app from those folders, folder is still open when I return to homescreen.
It seems to be a classic use case. Could you check that the auto close is set at the folder level please ? Maybe it has been set at the desktop level but for some reason it hasn’t been herited by the folder.

Yes. That was the cause of the problem. I had to go and set it on every folder. And now it works. So, there’s some bug in the “main switch”.
