In LLX, I face a recurring issue where the desktop freezes. All gestures work but not touching shortcuts and widgets. It becomes normal sometimes after killing all running apps or locking then unlocking the screen.

Very irritating.

I’m also using the same desktop as a lock screen, if that gives any hint.

What could it be?

I have been having the same problem. all I did was change my wallpaper. best fix is to use a different screen as the lockscreen as you will need to place a restart app shortcut on your home screen.  of course this method only works if the problem is within a panel like mine is. if it’s on tht desktop itself I found the best fix is to restart your device.

Humm.. glad i’m not alone, this way we can provide more details to nail the bug (or feature!).

I prefer to use the main desktop for a lockscreen because it shows all the things i need to see without unlocking my device. I don’t have an unlocker as clicking on any widget or shortcut will trigger an unlock.

Restarting is definitely not an option.. I hope we get a solution or a request for more information that would get us a solution.

This brings another question. Can I copy a desktop?

yeah you’re right I wouldn’t wanna go any route actually and it used to be where if a widget was clicked it only opened the app for that widget and then backing out took you back to the llx lockscreen.  I miss that feature cause now even clicking the widget unlocks the screen. I’m using alpha version which at times can be a huge mistake especially now that I can’t use my lockscreen because of that. I’m sure if I opted out of alpha and beta I’d get that feature back but then I couldn’t test any future features. Pierre Hébert please read this the lockscreen was so good until I opted as a beta tester. I liked that when I backed out of an app/widget from my lockscreen it took me right back where I actually had to use the unlocker. after getting the beta release that feature no longer exists rendering the unlocker useless as anything unlocks the screen now. please bring it back 🙁 .   anyway yeah it’s a bug and if your device is a Toshiba I’d suggest that it’s a device bug but I’m sure I’m the only one with a Toshiba it can’t be.

No, I’m using Huawei for a change and I like it so far. I hope the bug is not device specific as it would be harder to nail and fix.

no it’s a launcher bug then.  if you were using a Toshiba I’d suggest busting that piece of shit with a hammer and buying a new one as there will never be a fix for any bug.   I’m using harsh words I know but I’m actively using a Toshiba right now and it has been pissing me off since I got every bug I found so far was related to the device and the only fix would be to root my device and upgrade my os or to bust this fucking thing with a hammer and buy a different model. either way I’m stuck but you are not. as far as copying screens I don’t know.

And yeah, Curtis Sylvester Jr. , what u described about widgets unlocking the desktop, i like that because the desktop is not unlocked until i put in my android unlock pattern so this works perfectly for me. I would hate to exclusively have to use an extra unlocker!

Majed Sahli I think I know what is the root cause of the problem, but I can’t reproduce it myself right now and I changed a lot of things since the previous stable release. Do you have a reproducible way to trigger the problem so that I can compare with v9.3 and the current test version ?

I hear you Curtis Sylvester Jr. , I hope to be able to add soon an option to toggle between the two behavior, tap unlock or not.

thanks Pierre Hébert I miss that ability it was working so well.  then again I also understand that every feature that gets added also creates bugs. I further understand that there’s a lot of stuff you still need to do.  no Majed Sahli I was referring to the llx lockscreen unlocker which had nothing to do with the system lockscreen. but even now there’s a tutorial by TrianguloY on how to make a combo lockscreen from llx. I just couldn’t see myself doing that.

Pierre Hébert OK, I was able to reproduce it! Here you go:

    1- screen locked

    2- tap on dashclock widget

    3- android pattern unlock

    4- app from dashclock opens

    5- back button

    6- voila! Desktop frozen!

At this stage I just figured a workaround to get back to normal: Just tap the home button!

let me get this straight… all that from clicking a widget, unlocking the combo lock (stock) and just hitting the back button?   took more than that just to lock a panel on my homescreen except I used tasker to change a system wallpaper to the way I like it not the way my device likes it.  except it was just a test and even it failed.

Thanks, that seems perfectly clear !
