So, my HTC One finally updated to 4.4.2 last night but, for some reason, my ‘phone’ app (ie. Stock dialer) doesn’t want to work in LL Extreme any more.
Works if I switch to Sense or another launcher though :-/
It just comes up with the message ‘there’s no app installed, choose one or go to Google Play’. Try choosing ‘phone’ and nothing happens.
Any ideas?

reboot the phone 2 – 3 times
I had the same problem (but not only with the phone app) with my i9505 when I got 4.4.2

Tried that but no luck so far, it was doing it with the messages app as well but that seems to have sorted itself (I use hangouts anyway but it seems to be isolated to the stock apps)

delete LL if that’s the problem and install it from scratch.

Refresh the app drawer, and reselect the app on your desktop if needed: what happened is that upon the firmware update, the dialer app name changed, but LL has not been updated because it was not running for obvious reason. Stock is updated because it is included in the firmware update. Other third party launchers may have tricks such as trying several known names from a database.
