Has anyone had trouble with LL causing apps to randomly close?

Has anyone had trouble with LL causing apps to randomly close? On my Moto X (gen 1), apps I’m using will close spontaneously…and sometimes reopen spontaneously, sometimes stay closed. Sometimes the recent apps menu pops up spontaneously. Uninstalling LL seemed to solve it, but I don’t want to be without it! Any ideas? Could it be something else?

I’ve had the same problem (spontaneous return to desktop) since the last update. I’m nearly certain it’s LL. While it’s nowhere near a deal breaker for me, the problem occurs frequently and can be mildly annoying, and I look forward to its eventual fix.

ETA: The problem is discussed some in earlier posts (eg Elderon Analas on July 4). I have a feeling the trouble lies in LL restarting in response to (erroneous) timezone changes.

I have had the same. I didn’t connect the problem with llx but if it’s happening to others too, it may be, and I didn’t have it previously

Probably worth getting a logcat if you can.

Edit: No problems on my device.

I am not rooted so can’t provide a logcat unfortunately, however, the problem is annoying because my notification app and lock screen shutting down with the not responding message. I don’t care much for most apps randomly shutting down, but those 2 are instrumental to the use of my phone.

I have the problem occaisionally on startup with some widgets and at random times with the YouTube app. Pierre Hébert is there any way non-rooted users can grab and send useful information to you when that happens?

i thought it was only me.  i was driving and launched Waze.  half-way through, the app stopped!  i had to pull over to get the app up again.  Where are the logs so i can submit them?

Install this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nolanlawson.logcat open it accept the superuser request, then just use LL as normal as soon as the problem occurs, immediately open catlog again and choose save, upload the txt file here or send it to Pierres email. If your emailing it dont forget to let him no what happens and if possible around what time it occured.

I meet similar problem and time change is probably also the reason. When I disable “Automatic – use network-provided values” in “Date and time” settings, then my primary problem with LL (randomly force closed) is solved.

I have disabled the automatic date and time settings as per Jaroslav Grochals posting, and that makes no difference to me. The issue still persists.

Is there any update on this one at all ? I was having quite a large battery drain and when I checked, a load of apps that I force close and never run, were actually running. I only keep them in the phone in case I want to use them one day. Essentially since the last release, apps are just randomly opening. And running apps are randomly force closing. And probably ten or more times a day, I just get the recent apps screen appear.

Even more unusual, I removed a floating desk top, it is no longer visible, yet that re appeared over the top of another one. Deleted and restored a backup and it was still the same.

I installed nova as an experiment and all of this stopped. I don’t really like nova but it was just to prove the problem. I aren’t rooted so can’t help with the logcat, sorry.

Nigel I continue to have those same issues after trying that date/time change. It had gotten so frequent I had to disable LL–and the problems stopped. Will have to wait until an update to use LL again 🙁

it’s kind of a bummer!  it’s happening with Beyond Pod now.  i’m listening to a podcast and then it just stops.  no rhyme or reason.  i tried to capture the logs but for some reason, i don’t have a save option that i could see.  i emailed the developer and i’m still waiting for a response..
