URGENT!
URGENT!
(for me 😉 )
@ Pierre Hébert and all Others too.
Yesterday i made following experiences with LLx 9.1/Zooper pro 2.44:
On a “fresh” installed device (android 4.3) i tried to install
my own Themes with APK not restore. i did this with 2 different themes (apks).
1. Widgets are still only on place not loaded
(behaviour is like before 9.1 and ok for me)
2. Performance of Zooper was horrible. Â
Sometimes i got messages like u can see on the Screenshot.
(better with older apks, before 9.1)
3. I deinstalled zooper and tried it again with same result.
(i didn’t delete any data from sdcard)
4. I deinstalled zooper and LLx.
(i didn’t delete any data from sdcard)
5. Performance was better but not nearly like i knew before.
6. now once the zooper-widgets where placed and loaded correctly.
(was the theme created with LLx 9.1, the other one was older)
7. after reseting the  desktop nothing happened on my device
when i tap on the cleared desktop. no tap, no long tap, no gestures ;-(
the device was not “dead”. just llx. statusbar for example worked as before. only reboot helped. repeatedly reconstructed. Â app-drawer is empty after this. refresh helped.
8. What i also noticed is that all styles will be in a generated apk.
Means all previous styles will be lost. Means also all styles which i made for testing on a desktop will be stored in an apk.
i wish:Â
before developing new and ingenious features please please please try to fix most of the bugs which where reported until yet,
not only by me.
but i have also wishes:
option to chose which styles should be included by generating APK.
if not the apks will get bigger and bigger everytime, when you create styles often as i do.
option to chose whether app-drawer-setting are included in the apk or not.
i like the overall performance before 9.1 more than now (and i have devices which are not bad 😉 )
so i don’t realy need the feature that widgets should be loaded automaticly.
when they are placed correctly is good enough.
i do not use betas. cause of sharing and selling my themes.
so i do not know how this works with beta or if the issues still exists.
and also i don’t want to try.
LL rocks anyway !

addition:
backups will get bigger and bigger
for example i made a backup with 2 desktops it was about 6mb. then i delete one desktop and made some changes. but not realy huge. then i made a backup for this single desktop and it was almost 6.5 mb ;-((

I got problems with some widget’s too. They won’t resize.
Most with Images.
Like imgur and 500px.

addition 2:
test with restoring a backup
and load widgets from sdcard
works perfect!

gerd reuter , what makes you think the launcher is the cause of the issue ? Since the message shows Zooper is not responding, I would rather think that the problem is with this app, not in LL ?
Regarding 7) I discovered the bug yesterday too. I think it has been introduced in 9.0 or 9.1. Fortunately it does not appear always and we don’t reset too frequently 😉
I confirm that all styles are part of the template and that they are restored when the template is applied. I will see what I can do to select which style is exported or not.
Regarding bugs, this is unfortunate but the more feature are implemented the more bugs are likely. Generally I try to fix them as soon as possible and on each release there are usually a long list of bug fix, but the sad thing is that I also introduce new ones 😉 Also this becomes increasingly difficult to support 4818 devices ranging from Android 2.0 to Android 4.4.
In order to understand what causes the template to grow, could you send me one version of the file and the following ? Most of the time wallpaper account for more than 80% of the total, then there are icons and widgets data. You may also unzip files to check the content.

Could you send me the apk that causes the slow down so that I can test with it please ?

Pierre HébertÂ
i realy can not say whether the problem with the performance is from LLx or zooper. i just tell you what i have observed.
i know and understand that it’s NOT possible to support ALL devices. but some bugs seems to me not dependent on the device.
I think that the pace of further development is to high. instead of waiting some time after a official release and to get feedback. this is not the case at zooper.Â
this is not evil, you’re doing a real good job pierre.
i will check the increasing backups by unzipping. thanks for the tip.

Thanks I will have a look at it !

Seems to work well at the moment, I don’t see any lag with zooper after several template switches but I will keep an eye on this.
