I have a galaxy gear. When the gear is close to the phone I can unlock without entering my password (pattern).
When the gear is close the notification menu can be scrolled down from lockscreen. When the gear is off it is impossible.
It was not the case with WidgetLocker.

Forgot to say that the password bypass is a functionality of the gear. While the notification menu is the surprising behaviour

I was thinking it might be a standard functionality of the gear. But as WidgetLocker had an option to choose to grant or prevent access to the notification bar I was not used to it

I don’t know about the gear. It is possible to disable the notification bar but it does not work the same everywhere

I started reporting it as a bug as accessing notification from lockscreen is a security issue. But as I discovered it was linked to the Gear functionnality, it is consistent with the bypass functionnality. So not a bug from me, more of a surprise.
