I know I already posted about that but I have more information.
I know I already posted about that but I have more information. Integration between LLX and Zooper is not working well for widget deletion.
When deleting widget using:
– reset desktop
– applying a new APK
– or when interrupting creation of a widget in the middle.
Then the widget remains in Zooper and cannot be removed from Zooper as Zooper do not provide a way to delete a widget that is not on accessible from home or lockscreen.
The only solution I’ve found for the moment to remove it is to uninstall Zooper, delete temp file and reinstall all.
I know the second part is a Zooper issue. But the act of removing the widget comes from LLX.

Happened to me with other launchers (and probably widgets), too. Only Zooper shows the widgets, so we know. It’s a system thing, assignment widgets to launcher etc.

Yes but Zooper and LLX keeps updating them generating heavy memory loss after a while. (I am going to post this to zooper too. They need to implement a way to delete widget from the app)
This generate delay in widget update by LLX, failure to load widget and crash of LLX so this impact heavily the experience of LLX. (After applying 3 template from Gerd (with quite a lot of widget) LLX was so heavily unstable it could not even hold without crashing for more than 5 minutes
I reinstalled Zooper and everything went back to perfect fluidity

I hate to admit that, but you are right about that, this is a big bug. I confirm that reseting a desktop is missing some important step (just tested it). However applying a new APK or canceling the widget creation should be safe though. It may be that there are two problems in one. I will investigate this further.

Yes for applying an APK. It was an issue last time I did it mid December, but the batch of Christmas update solved it. Last one was fine
Canceling widget creation is more on Zooper side I think as this is interrupting a Zooper activity.
I had an other one recently (1st of jan). I long pressed on a widget and choose the “select another widget”. Once the new widget replacing it, the old one was still in Zooper. I don’t know if this one is on Zooper or LLX

I just checked the widget removal process: widgets are removed in all cases except reset and remove from the configure desktop screen (will be fixed). But for some reason Zooper chooses to keep widget data, maybe for backup or reuse them later ? Whatever the reason is, widgets removed from the app but still in zooper should not use memory in the launcher though, only when the launcher fails to do this properly.
