Strange new issue.

Strange new issue. I don’t know exactly when it started, but my Gmail unread count do not update anymore (only update upon starting the phone).

I’d say the issue is about 1 or 2 weeks old.

I am using a Nexus 6P, no root with latest update 6.0.1

My guess is that a recent Gmail update broke the feature.

I am surprised however that the unread count can still be read, because reading the value once and be notified of a change are tightly linked in this case.

Are you able to select the Gmail label when you setup a new dynamic text?

Yes and when done it actually update the value. But only for the new dynamic text, the previous version keep the old value.

Well, I have just updated Gmail (usually I carefully avoid to do this unless required) and it seems it doesn’t work 🙁 I’ll try to see what is happening…

Tried to debug the thing today, it works… I’m a bit lost.

Could it be an issue with the permission? It shouldn’t as no permission doesn’t allow reading the count.

It started working again for me about the begining of this week. I am confused as there was no update of either gmail, inbox or LL

Me too! Other users alerted me on the issue in the meantime.
