This is a second try to explain/report a bug that’s exists on my phone for…. months. With v14 i thought i might be lucky to smash this bug.

I try to give as many info as i can with screenshots.

I Have a Cubot H1 with stock, but rooted, Android v5.1, stock kernel 3.10.65+. No exposed or mods.

In one screenshot there is a overview of my display preference.

I tinted the statusbar and displayed gridlines so you can see better what happens.

In the first screens (A1-A3) the statusbar and content overlap are off. As you can see i get a tinted area exactly under the statusbar. Also the displayed screen is shifted downwards.

I edit mode the top area is always cluttered/overlaped with the menu overlay.

All the other screens are the same but with one option different in the systembar settings.

I hope you find something Pierre.

Thanks for the detailed screenshot. As far as I can see, everything looks as if the app wasn’t allowed to draw behind the status bar when it is visible.

On Android 5 and later, Lightning uses the full screen to draw content, from the top/left pixel to the bottom/right pixel. When the status bar overlap option is not checked, Lightning put some padding to prevent items behind the status bar (same for the navigation bar, but at the bottom of the screen). Also it manages system bar colors by drawing colored areas behind the bars.

Hence, what can be seen on your screenshot is, from top to bottom:

    – the system status bar area

    – the launcher area, just under (should be behind the status bar), with:

    – a dark thick line for the color (should be behind the status bar)

    – the content of the app

There’s a single setting to specify whether to draw behind the status bar or not. As a consequence the only explanations I have is: either the system doesn’t take the flag into account (system bug), or Lightning doesn’t set the flag correctly (not at the right time, or conflict with other flags). I tend to think the second is less probable because it seems to work on other devices and android versions 🙁

If you set the status bar color to transparent and select overlap, the problem will be partly hidden, but of course only in a limited set of configurations.

Yes, i set the statusbar to transparent and select overlap to hide the problem.

    Well…. i was just hoping you could find a solution … ☺.

Perhaps… on some day…. you dream of a nice lightning … and a solution pops up.. 😉.
