When I click a folder, the zooming animation as it opens is very pretty, but it’s also very slow. Is there any way to speed up the folder-opening animation? I don’t want to turn off the animation entirely, just make it a little snappier.

On mine, it’s under Developer Options, so you may have to enable that for your device.
Change animation duration to like .5x
Chris Chastain I tried setting all the developer animation settings to off, but it doesn’t affect the animations in Lightning (like the folder opening animation, or the desktop zoom animation) at all.
Anyway, I’m perfectly happy with the speed of the system animations, I wouldn’t want to change that. Lightning’s animations all feel like slow motion in comparison.
Other launchers let users change this, and lightning is usually far more customizable than other launchers… Ideally we’d be able to change this per-folder, so that (for example) a sidebar folder could animate at a different speed than a normal folder! So I guess, consider this a feature request! 🙂
Well damn. I thought the system animation speed controlled it.
