These things don’t need rushing, Pierre ! ! Take your time and enjoy yourself a little more, you’ve done amazing work with LL !

I’m just reporting a bug and gathering some info.

I have enabled transparent status bar and don’t allow the desktop to go under it. After LLX has been active for some time the desktop goes under the status bar, a restart fixes this. Haven’t figured out what triggers this, usually out takes time, but sometimes not.

Second issue (pic related) is more of a question – are icon shaders supported in LL? They don’t seem to be, because all of the icons should be in black and white. If they are supported then they aren’t working, if not then this one is a feature request.

I know that I’ve asked about this at least two times already, but I couldn’t find my previous post with the question: support for icon pack types other than adw are planned, right? Is this a long term goal or a short term goal?

I keep running into the issue that it’s really difficult to find icon packs that LL sees, even if those packs have adw compatibility.

some icons look b/w to me while the others are in color. it looks like you shaded some while leaving the rest alone.

Curtis Sylvester Jr. I only applied the icon pack which was supposed to make them all b/w (except the 4 in the lower panel). I suspect that the b/w ones are replaced with the icon packs images and the others only have the icon mask layers applied, but the shader (that’s supposed to turn then b/w) isn’t applied for some reason.

it could very well be the b/w icons were the replacements. i dont know what the default icons looked like. i am saying that it looks like some of the icons eithet didnt get shaded or you forgot to shade them. looks can be deceiving though, there may very well be a shader problem. then again i dont even know how to do any of that masking stuff. i just apply the icon pack and call it good.

I only applied the icon pack, just like you! =D

I’ve been searching for an icon pack that would mask all of the icons and make them greyscale for a few weeks now. Now I found one, but no dice. I suspect the same thing that you do. The grayscaled icons look quite like the originals, but compared to the colored ones, they have more shades and are a bit more artistic.

A long time ago I found a great artist from whom I’ve seen icon packs only using icon masks – everything looks superb as the guy is really talented. I even switched my launcher for those icon packs. Unfortunately he made them for nova/apex and these do not work with LL.

I don’t want to switch to any other launcher anymore, but those icons are the one thing that’s missing from LL being perfect!

I had forgot about those icons for a while, since they don’t pop out on the icon pack list, but I re-discovered them a few months ago and this has been driving me nuts – it’s near impossible to find great icon packs for adw that have icon masks and impossible to find pure icon mask packs (so far at least)….If I weren’t so busy with school, then I’d be trying to figure out how to make my own!

Thanks for your responses, Curtis! =D

dont trip dude. so far i fell in love with 1 icon pack and even its not perfect. the icons are either too big or too fucking small. but they look better than they would as default icons AND it gives my home page that “poked an indentation in my screen” look.

    Don’t plan on going anywhere!

My experience so far tells me that an icon pack has to either replace all icons or theme them all with icon masks, a mix of both hasn’t given a uniform look so far.

I was about to give you a link to a xda thread by a member named sspyed but my laptop battery died and I was in a class. Search for him in the xda forums, his work is amazing (although I remembered that not all of his icon packs are done purely with masking, but there are still many, most are for free and all of them look awesome). If you can’t find the thread, then I’ll send you the link later!

Let me know what you think – these are the best icon themes I’ve seen and best of all not a single icon has looked out of place for me. It’s a real shame, that he hasn’t (last available info) discovered LL and that LL can’t recognize his work!

Regarding the status bar I found some issues with hiding and transparency. A fix will be in the next release however I don’t know whether it will fix this particular bug.

Regarding icon packs, I would say this is more a short term evolution. However I don’t know what features or icon packs formats offer, maybe LL will not support everything and my time free for the project is limited. One option that I would like to implement (indepently from icon packs) is icon coloring and it may comes before support for other icon packs.
