Did I see something about this before?

Did I see something about this before? Is this anything from my end? Happened about 7 times and only fix is a launcher restart. Also a couple times I hit edit mode and everything disappeared on the screen and only the pinned item’s lil push pin icons were showing. I hit back once and all good once had to go into and back out edit mode 4 times and another I had to restart. The only other thing I’ve found so far, and anything could be me, is the stop points not launching react action every time and not at all when snapping (for that point only) is enabled.. Again I could be doing something wrong of course lol but the extremely complex capabilities of this, I thought there was gonna have to be more lil glitches but wrong again 😂😂😂 Pierre Hébert jus curious, anything else you worked on? Can’t be ur first app is it? I got 3 more days off to give this thing pure torture so I’m trying everything I can to find the most efficient rigs for me. Jus the points are driving me crazy lol I know I’m missing something

The screenshot indicates that LLX is out of memory. Not sure about the other stuff. Restart App is the “fix”

Josh Horner where do you see that? I have a ram Guage (tiny core) at the top left showing almost 30% free, plus besides a few light system services and a couple widgets everything else is either hibernated thro greenify, and also I use HIBERNATE app which doesn’t force close but instructs android to put selected apps in deep sleep.. Sooo I know for a fact it’s not outta mem I constantly monitor my system very close especially when benching new apps and working them out.. I agree with you that in most other cases of people having problems it’s because they have so many apps running that the garbage collector gets working too hard.. But that’s the first thing I checked all 7 times. And yes restart works. I could be missing it but where is launcher out of memory? Jus couldn’t be possible, and if so there’s something weird going on lol

Corey Spell I’m not necessarily referring to the system’s available RAM, but I believe that Android limits the amount of RAM an app can use. (can any devs out there confirm this?)

Specifically, i’m referencing Pierre Hébert’s responses to this post:

I used to experience the blank color picker issue (and the issue with the icon picker….all icons would become the Android logo, especially when scrolling through quickly) a bunch whenever I was heavy into customizing a lot of LLX things at once.  I haven’t seen these issues recently, but I know that the system has been slightly optimized.  ….also, I haven’t been customizing much lately.

if there’s a way to view the amount of RAM consumed by LLX, it might be a clue.

Josh Horner I use popup widget 2 to drop down a lost widget showing everything even hidden system services and their ram usage at the moment on top of any app or whatever I’m doing any time and it’s been the most amazing reliable useful tool I’ve ever used…. Lightning is at 96MB now, but even right after a fresh install it stays around 118mb.. Which is more than everyone else says theirs is, but every time I’ve had a problem in lighting I’ve had plenty of spare ram, at least 30% is free out of 2gb at all times the way I run my phone.. I’ll add you to my circles and post a screen shot of my monitor on your feed

Lots of widgets take lots of memory. The color picker showing up blank indicates an out of memory issue.

If you use Zooper, I would suggest trying to find an alternative. Even if you don’t use any Zooper widgets, it takes an amazing amount of mem just being installed.

Chris Chastain.. That’s jus odd.. The times that happened I know I had 30% free and 3 widgets, and not even zooper.. I’m guessing but I might have an idea what could have caused OOM without the garbage collector going nuts, but I’ll test it before I bust it out lol

Yes, each app has a memory limit, more exactly it has a “java” memory limit. Widgets are counted in this java memory. To know the limit and the current level, add two dynamic texts heap max and free (but remove them after a while, there is a performance penalty in using them).

Pierre Hébert well that jus might have a lil to do with it huh? Lol the phrase “practice is perfection” may sound cliche but it is still hard core fact. There’s no substitute for 20 years of experience with something, I understand completely I have almost 20 years of experience with anything that makes music or sound, so playing an instrument requires no thought and is second nature to me. Although you probably had to think just a little bit writing all those long ass lines of code lol but one day I sure would like to be able to at least do some of that stuff myself but I will probably stick to beating on drums for now 🎶🎤🎵🎧🔉🔊😅😅😂😂
