Is there any way to make the selected and focused backgrounds of a panel just automatically set to the same as normal? That way, I don’t have to change a background 3 times every time I change one?

The only way is to turn off the expert mode at the moment. That said, it would be nice to use a single switch, both for ease and for efficiency.
