Icon shaders should be supported.

Icon shaders should be supported. This was actually mentioned a few month ago (https://plus.google.com/+TaavoAllik/posts/AQtdZ9S9LA3), but nothing came of it. Here’s how shaders work from the theme creator’s point of view (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48191209&postcount=1338).

I’ve looked for information on how to implement this, but all I’ve found is noshader.xml (https://github.com/AnderWeb/ADW.Theme-Template/blob/e066fd10436929bcec9dfe6e48e81c345da441dc/res/xml/noshader.xml) which offers some small additional insight, and IconShader.java (https://github.com/stayboogy/CM7.2_source_android/blob/00817814444adcab63cb09cf2ddba621d698456e/packages/apps/ADWLauncher/src/com/android/launcher/IconShader.java) which seems related but I’m not sure how exactly.

Sorry this isn’t more helpful :/

Thank you for the links, there are useful. This is not documented in the theming guide (http://adwthings.com/launcher/adw-theming-guide/) but code is always the best documentation available.

I was however thinking at something less “complicated” (http://developer.android.com/reference/android/graphics/ColorMatrix.html) but anyway I am sorry to say that I don’t plan to add this feature soon.

I would love shadows on my icons and be able to adjust them in this great launcher!
