I’m having a problem that just cropped up.

I’m having a problem that just cropped up. My Samsung Galaxy Note 4 recently updated the OS to 5.1.1 so it may be related to that. LL works fine unless I try to edit something. When I long press on the screen the menu pops up, and all of the options work except the edit function. When I press on the pencil the screen freezes, and after about 30 seconds or so I get the message “Lightning Launcher isn’t responding. Do you want to close it?”

I’ve tried restarting the phone, switching to the default launcher and back again, but nothing helps. I’ve backed up my configuration. I haven’t tried uninstalling and reinstalling LL because I have quite a bit of configuration, and I’m concerned that it might not all get restored from the backup.

Any thoughts on what would be my best way to address this would be much appreciated.

    I would try this

Go into android settings/applications find LL and clear its cache then force stop the app.

Thanks for the idea – I just tried that, it still locks up when I press the pencil icon. I did not clear the data, just the cache. I rebooted after force stopping LL. Any other thoughts?

Get the dev a logcat if you can

FYI I also have a Note 4 running 5.1.1 and I don’t have this problem. I’m not on a stock ROM though

What version of LL you running btw?

I was running whatever was the most current and just now installed the new update that was just released.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling LL, and found that everything worked fine, until I restored from my backup. Restoring from my backup recreates the problem. So something must be hosed in my configuration, but I have no idea how to address that. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
