Third 8.7 beta (and likely the last one before GA)
If you read previous posts you already know the main new feature, but here is the full changelog anyway, a few other items are worth an update:
* add folder placement options as well as new animations (this is an easy way to create side bars)
* add copy to desktop menu item (only for apps and shortcuts)
* scale stop points when they do not fit in their cell, instead of truncating them (better for small grids)
* add match edge options for stop points
* fix several bugs with stop points (direction not taken into account, wrong vertical snap and some problems with barrier)
I expect that the folder placement options will trigger new feature requests or bug report (in some situation it reveals some weakness that were already here but not visible), so I am waiting for your feedback 😉

Awesome update. Only concern is that using dual layouts, some of the new parameters need to have independent landscape and portrait settings.

Pierre Hébert When you align a folder to an edge, the default 1 pixel wide margin of the box makes it appear that the folder is not aligned. I know that this margin can be edited but I’m wondering if the margin shouldn’t automatically be set to zero when align to an edge is chosen?
I only bring this up because the appearance of not being aligned might appear to be a bug…

You are perfectly right Grace-Ann Curby ! This one pixel was automatically set as a workaround for an animation bug on previous Android versions. As it was indeed visible with folders aligned to the edges of the screen, and since the number of devices on which the bug appears is reducing, I turned off the option in beta 3. New installs won’t have this added pixel by default, but existing installs will remain as they are.
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Pierre Hébert So does an update remove the added pixel or is an uninstall/reinstall needed?
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Outstanding work. The popup folders is great. Hard to get just right sometimes but great
]]>
< ![CDATA[
Grace-Ann Curby it does not remove it for existing desktops. If you change the margin from 1 to 0 in the current desktop option it will be effective for unmodified folders, and if you create new desktops, it will be set to zero.
