v8.9.a1

Including panels.

This time this is in the alpha channel, download only if you don’t fear to be on the bleeding edge, and make a backup first. There are various caveats that need to be fixed before a release. You have been warned 😉

Keep it coming! Even your beta-versions are much more stable than many releases of other software. Great quality, really!

    Looking good so far!

Any chance of a shortcut action to launch panels?

I’m not seeing an option to add 9 patch to the panel. I can add 9 patch to items in the panel, but I don’t see a way to do it to the panel itself. Am I missing something or are you still working on that?

I watched the video that was made btw and still couldn’t find it. Thanks in advance and love the new panels for the most part so far.

Ok, I am lost. Updated and tried to add a panel. No error message but no panel visible. Galaxy note 3

They are fully transparent so maybe you just cant see them…

If you add a new one, it is selected and you can see the four “arrow” things on the sides.

Bob Chernow Where you long press to open the pop-up menu, go to edit mode and click in the same place, it’ll be selected and highlighted.

I can get it to show on one of my desktop but not others. Are there certain layout settings that need to be true.

Bob Chernow : I think in free mode the initial size may actually be so small so you won’t be able to select it again !

So if you don’t use auto edit mode, adding a panel in free mode is a problem. Try to enter edit layout mode first, then add a panel, and immediately enlarge it before handles disappear.

Tried briefly, works great on Nexus 4 (KK 4.4.2). Quickly got used to it, I find it quite intuitive to use. Greatly done, Pierre Hébert!!

What is the difference between panels and folders that are animated?

panels are embedded in the desktop, a bit like widgets, hence they don’t need to be opened, and they are never close. They slide when you scroll the desktop, zoom in/out, etc.
