Is there a way to easily have lightning use a taker variable. For example user it to set all my panel backdrops colors at one time.

You can export the variable in Tasker with a task (Plugin > Lightning Launcher > Lightning Variable) and then use the variable you created in that task in bindings on each panel. (edit mode > properties > bindings)
