I think I have narrowed this down…
The issue of panel contents position not sticking:
This may be a memory issue, but I have found that using the geometry adjustments, panel contents position keeps reverting. When manually repositioning (difficult because item “swells” by way of animation) the position sticks.

Thanks Chris Chastain ! You found the root cause: the geometry editor is just forgetting to mark the data as “needing to be saved”. If you make some other modification elsewhere without the geometry editor, then the change will be saved! Will be fixed in next release 🙂
