Widget pinning fails in grid mode.

Widget pinning fails in grid mode.

When I added a widget in grid mode and then pin it, it disappears. If I pin the widget in free mode and then switch to free mode it stays there and is fine.

Humm, I think there is another condition in the equation, I have just tried this and it seems to work. Do you remember the steps you did before ?

earlier on i found if i added too many config options at once, sometimes widgets or icons would disappear, haven’t seen it for a while though.

First created the widget, and it showed itself. Long press, clicked customize, selected pinned horizontal & vertical. Escape back to desktop and see the area with the resize indicators, but no widget. Hit escape and widget is gone. Long press in same area and get the standard menu to add, etc. Grid is 6 col, by 10 rows.

I can consistently reproduce this problem… I will write up steps later.

First, this problem happens not only with widgets but also with apps and shortcuts. Also, pinning it in any mode can cause the problem.

Here are my steps to reproduce this problem:

    1. Add a widget

    2. Drag the widget to another screen

    3. Choose Customize… then More… then “+” and set the Pin Mode to Horizontal&vertical

    4. Return to the desktop and now the widget is gone.

Grace-Ann Curby Amazing ! This bug should be here since a while 🙁 What happens here is that the item is pinned outside of the screen viewport hence it becomes unreachable… The “pin” item feature in the long tap menu will prevent this, but not the advanced option in the customize screen, and this is where the bug is.

I ran into this in LL shortly after starting to use it, which was a while ago. I always thought it had to with using free form with dual positioning and placing items in landscape orientation because I could very often switch to portrait, zoom way out and then find the item… Glad I could help!
