When you click in a folder, the buttons (back, gestures, etc) apply to the folder. Ok.
But with panels this is not necessary, in fact it’s not good (maybe in some situations it is)
Because if you have a panel, and you use the panel (click, long click, etc) then the gestures apply to the panel, and for example Back button don’t work in the desktop (it work in the panel)
What about an option, if possible, to choose this? (I mean: to let panels take the focus or not)
]]>Another suggestion: it would be handy to keep some items always on top in z-order, i.e.
Now, in latest beta, customize lightning menu has the options ‘settings’ and ‘current desktop’ (and ‘lock’)
But in a folder it still say only customize folder….Could it be possible to make the same menu, or it has problems?
]]>If at desktop level an ADW Icon Pack is chosen, could these please be automatically applied to folders and panels…
Could you please add “Bottom” and “Right” to “This folder’s window” >> “Placement”?
It would be more convenient i.e. to add margins around a folder. Right now it’s math to do (desktop width – left – right = width). But primary it would be independent from a devices resolution (publishing templates).
Also it would allow to align folders i.e. relative to the bottom left corner. Again: device independency.
I know technically top/height and left/width are the values to use, but it would be great if you could make this possible.
Usablity-wise I’d suggest: if top AND bottom are specified, the height value should be non-editable (maybe show the calculated value?), likewise left, right and width.
]]>Based on a personal requirement, but thinking in general I think this is a feature suggestion that can be added.
The feature is about transparent bars, both navigation and status so I’ll say simply bar.
Now we have transparent bar yes/no, my suggestion is to have 4 different types of transparency:
1) no transparency (obvious)
2) background transparency: the same as the app drawer, they will be transparent, and you’ll see the android background, but they still not be part of the screen, you’ll can’t put/see items under them.
3) partial transparency: The new one: they will allow to see items under them however when computing the screen (specially with the layout) they will not take part. Imagine that in the actual mode the screen is a window, and you just make the top and bottom part transparent. In this case when you scroll to the top the upper item will stay in the main part…I know it’s difficult to understand (and explain!) so I can post some images to explain it visually [and there it the question “Can it be done? “]
4) Total transparency: just as now.
]]>Is there anyway to group shortcuts/widgets/etc?
Some kind of grouping can now be done with panels, but it would be a wonderful feature if you could tell exactly which items on the desktop to group, say for example the upper left icon and footer panel with all its icons.
]]>I want to ask if this feature will be possible, and also if it’s useful for others, this is more personal than my…
So, the problem is that I had a perfect layout with 8 rows, but when transparent bars were added (I like transparent bars) I needed to add more rows to keep the center with 8x rows with bars (a real math problem, I ended with 45 rows and not exactly)
Just before everybody ask: I don’t like to use free mode because I have a lot of apps, that fit perfect in the grid layout, I don’t want to calculate every position-size of every app.
Now, with the possibility to mix layout and edit mode, I have more control, but not enough. What I need is to have the layout computed only with the available screen size, but with the ability to put items under the transparent bars (not as in app drawer).
In case this is a bit confusing, the best feature that could be added is: custom layout (row1: 55px, row2: 100px, row3…) or an offset of the layout. (A layout with 55px offset at top will be enough)
This is a personal and particular request, but maybe other ideas can be extracted.
I also accept suggestions, but remember NOT free mode.
]]>Allow to have different layout setting for the “My Drawer” desktop and the pre-defined drawer (sort by name).
Ex: I have formatted my drawer using folders, the folder are set with a 5*6 size so apps are displayed clearly with name.
But the actual “My Drawer” desktop is set as 8*16 with a very small display. As the layout setting of “My Drawer” and the list by name, the list by name is flattened and it is almost impossible to identify the apps.
]]>Is there any way to create something like th new panels that could always have an app open in it?
eg. Th screen to th left of home has a full size panel with gmail open so when I scroll to it I see gmail in much th same way Google now works on GEL.
