Can we have a dual function shortcut?

Can we have a dual function shortcut?

Basically, like how assigning an app to a physical button.

*You can set the home button to launch the Google search. And when you press it while inside the app(google search), it will take you back to home.

What I want to achieve is;

I want this pinned item to be a shortcut from page1 to page2 (vice versa). :”)

Hi Mr. Pierre, How about this leather skin?

Hi Mr. Pierre, How about this leather skin?

I’m having a small problem. When I switch to other desktop, it would be nice if hitting the “back” button won’t take you back to your “default desktop”. Or at least an option to disable it. So when we switch to other desktop, we don’t need to set new default desktop everytime. :”)

LL Tasker Plugins and variables

LL Tasker Plugins and variables

Since a good deal of advanced LL users, take advantage of the dual nature of the wallpaper in LL, I had an idea.

By dual nature of wallpaper I do not mean that each screen can have its own wallpaper. I mean that each screen can show a Per-Screen wallpaper and System Wallpaper.

This has allowed for some pretty interesting layout tricks, where Live Wallpapers can be used as system wallpaper and PNG based images with transparent sections can be used on Per-Screen Wallpaper.

This allows for an effect where the Per-Screen wallpaper has a transparent window that can see the LiveWallpaper behind it.

I have started toying with the idea of a dynamic color desktop layout.

Meaning that the colors of all the widgets would change depending on predefined events or circumstances.

Zooper allows for this pretty well already, and combining tasker with it is allowing for some pretty cool stuff.

In tasker I can change the system wallpaper, so long as its static. Live Wallpapers are a lot more tricky and seem to require root.

What I cant change is the Per-Screen Wallpaper in 3rd party launchers.

Here is what I suggest. Add two new features into LL.

One – Allow the Per-Screen Wallpaper selection section to have a 2nd option for a tasker variable. IE you dont pick your wallpaper, you just type in a tasker variable. Tasker would then assign the wallpaper depending on the events you have setup.

Two – Give all of the fields in LL’s settings that allow for the choice of color (fonts, borders, ect) the ability to enter in a Tasker Variable.

Plugins

Since LL not only allows for multi screen layouts but for multi-desktop layouts. It could really take advantage of Tasker.

I know a good deal of us use our phones in our cars.

I also know that a good deal of us have tried out various Car Launcher, only to later un-install them, because they make our eyes bleed they are so boring and/or ugly.

Imaging having two separate desktops in LL, one for your normal desktop and another for  when you are driving. Now imagine that all it takes to switch to your car home, is getting into your car.

This can be done easily by stating in tasker to switch to car-launcher  desktop when connected to this Bluetooth. Or if you dont have BT, when the accelerometer of your phone detects speeds above say 7mph.

This is just scratching the surface of what tasker integration could do and Im sure you could think of a few things yourself.

Let me hear them in the comments below.

Figure 2 shows a scheme of the layout (zoom)

Figure 3 (and the ugly Video 😉 ) shows the result.

LLZW Tutorial 01

To get the Result what we want we need 4 Layer Levels:

Layers from Bottom to Top:

1. Background with the 2 Widgets which slides from the left/right in the middle

2. Main Layer with “Mask”

3. Action-layer with Hotspots for Backgroundlayer

4. Protection or another Action-Layer

Explanation why:

It’s not possible to tap “through” widgets. The Widget or App on the highest level will get the control.

Setting up Layer 1:

Create a Zooper Widget with full-screen width and for example  4 rows height. Name it. Add some Modules as I did ( weather/time. you can customize it later). Place it half on the main and half on the left page.

Create a Zooper Widget with full-screen width and same height like before Name it. Add some Modules as I did ( battery/date. you can customize it later). Place it half on the main and half on the right page.

Long tap on empty space on the Screen select Edit layout when you are not in editing mode.

Long tap again. Select add. Select “Scrolling Stop point”.

Place it at the left corner of the left widget.

Long tap again. Select add. Select “Scrolling Stop point”.

Place it  at the right corner of the right widget.

Setting up Layer 2:

Create a Zooper Widget with full-screen width and same height as before. Name it.

Set Background color to transparent.

Add a Rectangle (Later you can use a bitmap if you like). Set height and width to full widgetsize. Color as you like.

Add another rectangle. Size and shape as you like and set drawing mode to clear.

Place the Widget at the middle of your Mainpage over the Widgets you have created before.

Long tap the Widget. Select pin.

Setting up Layer 3:

Create Zooper Widget half of the screenwidth . Height as before.

Name it.

Set Background color to transparent.

Create Rectangle shapes and modul on tap for the hotspots for the left widget on layer1.

(to check how it works and to adjust set the color to something semitransparent)

Place it over the main widget half on the mainpage half on the left page.

Create Zooper Widget half of the screenwidth . Height as before.

Name it.

Set Background color to transparent.

Create Rectangle shapes and modul on tap for the hotspots for the right widget on layer1.

(to check how it works and to adjust set the color to something semitransparent)

Place it over the main widget half on the mainpage half on the right page.

The widgets will slide like the widgets from layer 1.

That means when nothing is slide the hotspots on the right an left side of the mainpage will be “active” even though layer 1 is not visible.

Therefore we are

Setting up Layer 4:

either with a) pseudo widgets or with b) apps to protect the hotspots.

a:

create a zooper widget width a quarter of screenwidth. Height as before.

Set background color to transparent. Set widget on tap action to disable.

Place it over the mainwidget on the right or left side.

Long tap on the widget. Select position. select pin.

If you prefer this solution do it twice.

b:

create a shortcut to a application.

Place it to the “area” which you want to protect.

Long tap on the icon.. Select position. select pin.

do this as much as you need to “protect” the hotspots.

You are done 😉

This is just a simple and not very beauty example, but it shows you how you can create a fancy effect. It works horizontal and vertical (change left/right with upper/lower) . You can customize it as you like.

Enjoy

v8.0 is almost there

v8.0 is almost there

Several big bugs have been spotted by members since last Saturday.

Greeaaat: a good test is a test that failed !

With all these good tests (hear: bugs), I feel like the app is getting ready for a wider audience.

As of today the list of things that changed since v7.90 is:

– fixed various crashes (half a dozen, at least)

– fixed a bug where newly added or modified items becomes unresponsive (symptom: “hey, wait, what’s this f***g app, it’s all new and it don’t even launch”)

– fixed a bug in the customize screen app picking process (symptom: “I want to configure my event to launch an app, but I can’t select it, it launches immediately” -> I told you that LL was a bit faster in this version, it launches before you need it 😉 – better compatibility with icon packs (lots of icon packs…)

– prevent the item preview in the customize screen to be more than half of the screen (symptom: “where are all my settings gone?”)

– implement kill on LLX as a restart order (see you soon Terminator…)

– rename “Screen” to “Desktop” (add some confusion now to reduce confusion later, maybe, time will tell)

No more, no less. If your bug or request is not in this list, then it means it’s not ready yet.

It is still time to get yourself heard however: I plan to release v8 tomorrow, so there is some room for fixes and improvements in the meantime ! Bug shooting season is opened !

When I rotate phone to landscape position, pictures for screens are still in portrait layouts. When I add screen (by +), new screen is in landscape layout, but other screens are in portrait layout. When I go back from Configuration desktops to settings, and go back to Configuration desktops, new screen is in same position as other screens.
