Hi, I’m new to launchers as well as Google+ groups.

Hi, I’m new to launchers as well as Google+ groups. I’ve had LL for about 24 hours on my Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note 10.1, and am addicted – what a great tool for expanding the functionality of my phone and tablet. I’ve set up a layout on my phone that I’m happy with and would like to back it up, so I could restore everything to as it is, in case something happens to the phone or I screw up the layout beyond easy recovery. I’d also like to port it to my tablet. But I can’t figure out how to back up the complete layout, so that the folders and app positions are backed up. Is there a way to do that? Any help would be much appreciated.

In v10.5b1 there was a specific feature added: “when creating shortcut to scripts, optional data can now be passed as argument” that has gone unnoticed, and it’s more powerful than it seems. (Mainly because I think almost nobody used it in their scripts)

With this, a script can have custom parameter per item that don’t need to be stored in a tag, or included in the code as config.

However, now that I discovered it and I want to use this feature, it is still hard to use: you can only use it from ‘launch a shortcut, lightning, run script’, if you use the normal ‘run script’ that dialog is not showed [Even thought it is possible: you can set it as a custom EventHandler from a script]

There is another old suggestion: when choosing a script to run, show only the list of scripts, not the whole script editor.

So, Pierre Hébert, my suggestion is:

How difficult will be to have a custom dialog with:

Title: “Choose a script”

Drop down list with the list of scripts (the same one as in the script editor)

The ‘extra data passed, leave blank if not used’ text

A text box where to add the extra data

(Optionally: a checkbox to show/hide that two last items)

A cancel button and a accept button.

This will improve the mentioned feature, and people will understand better how to choose a script (pressing back to accept is, sorry, not obvious :/ )

Note: I know you said you will be busy, but I hope you can add this to the to-do list 🙂 (and I hope this is easy enough to do it at once, but I don’t know)

I’m having an issue with wired headphones.

I’m having an issue with wired headphones.  If I start listening to something (DoggCatcher, Play Music, white noise app), then navigate to the home screen, then away from the home screen the sound is muted.

From then on sound will only play if on the home screen (LL) and the screen is on.  On the sound-generating app, time continues to elapse as if it were playing, and pressing the Home button will result in sound immediately being generated again.

I have verified through experimentation that this only happens when LL is running (i.e. merely switching to another default home screen will not fix the problem until I also reboot).

I don’t know what other information to provide, but will gladly do so.  This is 100% repeatable for me with wired headphones, but I don’t think it has ever happened with bluetooth.  I am on CM11 Nightlies (4.4.4) and this has been going on for a long time.

In Apex Launcher there’s a feature that adds a Horizontal and Vertical Margin to the desktop.

In Apex Launcher there’s a feature that adds a Horizontal and Vertical Margin to the desktop. Would this be possible to do with a script? Can anyone write it for me? I was thinking something simple like a dialog that asks me what size margin I want, so i can have a different size margin for each side of the desktop. Cheers.

I’m a beginner at Lightning Launcher, so apologies in advance for what may well be something obvious.

I’m a beginner at Lightning Launcher, so apologies in advance for what may well be something obvious.  I’m trying to get app icons in a folder to roll over to a new line when there’s more than the specified number of columns, but I can’t figure out what setting this is.  I have it working on one folder, but can’t isolate the difference between this folder and others where they are extending off screen.  Any help will be appreciated!

Is there a way to multi-add items to a folder.

Is there a way to multi-add items to a folder. I’m trying to design a new layout for my contacts and it’s a real pain adding each contact separately.
