I am not sure if it’s bug. But I have set an icon pack in the drawer (DCikonZ), and whenever I install new app, it does not fit the icon pack, and I have to set the icon manually to fit the rest.

In a recent post it was discussed that the new animation for move items in the beta could be improved.

These are some ideas I was thinking, and maybe you like them or not.

1)When you click an item, after some milliseconds(in case you just want to scroll the screen) it will become slightly smaller. This will help to know if you clicked or not. (The animation should not be played if the item is set to ‘do nothing’)

2)When you long press an item, it will become smaller (because of 1) and after that it will become bigger to show that you can move it (the actual animation in the beta)

3) when you swipe from an item to perform the swipe action…What about a small animation in the direction you swiped? (I mean, like a small shake) Note that if you are a bit slow when swiping, the animation 1 will be played with this one. But shouldn’t be a problem (just stop 1 or mix both)

Yes, I like animations 😀

In recent version you added an option to sort items, but only when you click on items-compact/sort.

There is an option in miscellaneous: rearrange items which theoretically do this automatically, but only when you move an item.

What about select a sort (for example AZ ) and sort the items automatically when the folder is opened (if folder), when the desktop is shown (if desktop/panel), and when the app drawer is opened (if app drawer)?

Or just maybe with folders, in the ‘extra folder options’ menu.

What do you think? Could it be possible?

Suggestion, is it possible to pin in direction (up, down, left & right) instead of vertical/horizontal.

Big problem… my desktop is locked and I cannot unlock it.

Scenario: One-page layout, completely filled with widgets, no empty space. Pinch-zoom disabled. I was able to open long-tap menu and in “Lightning Settings” chose “Lock Desktop”.

Now there’s no way to long-tap anywhere to unlock.

I have folders and panels, those have empty space allowing to long-tap (BTW: should they when locked?), but there is no LL action to “Unlock Desktop” (“Unlock Screen” is for lockscreen).

LL action “Lightning Menu” shows a context sensitive menu for “Panel Settings” or “Folder Settings”. “Customize Lightning” brings the main configuration screen, but here’s no option “Lock Desktop” I could uncheck.

What’s missing:

a) option in lightning settings to unlock desktop

b) always option in long-tap menu “Lightning Settings”

About the grid in edit mode: as of today it is displayed using crosses when a item on the grid is selected, and with little circles when a detached item is selected.

What about removing this crosses and dots ? Are they useful ? after all, if the launcher highlights the cell when moving an item (or display some shadow), isn’t that enough ?

Swipe to side panel and close open folders.

Swipe to side panel and close open folders.

Hello,

First off thanks to Pierre Hébert for the best Launcher out there.

I would like to close open folders when I swipe right to reveal my side “panel”. So right now panel is just off screen to left, when I swipe to reveal it, open folders stay visible. I have seen many topics about this sort of thing but I was wondering has anyone found a solution to hide folder while revealing side panel?

If I set swipe right to close all folders, then of course I cannot have horizontal scrolling enabled to access the panel. Would it be possible to add a function that prevents folders from being open when certain points on the desktop are scrolled to? It seems like this would be a function many would be interested in.

Thanks!
