When in the app drawer and I long press on an app and press “add to home screen” it says it does, but the app never appears. I can only add apps by long pressing on the home screen and pressing add item.

When in edit layout, and I select an item, all the little crosses that used to be white are now blue. Is there anyway to set these to a custom color? I have a blue background so the blue crosses are difficult to see. Thanks.

I really like the concept of rotating individuall apps in place. The bug I see is that after the items rotate, the whole screen also rotates itself as it always had done previously. So the apps rotate and then everything on the screen flashes and re-orients itself.

This is a complex suggestion, I’m not sure if it would be useful user-side, and maybe not very easy developer-side, but it will be as debug-side (more or less)

The idea is something I have seen in other apps but useful in any case: a button to ‘clean data’ (keep reading)

What does this mean? Sometimes the launcher has internally old data that stay there, theoretically it should be deleted automatically, but sometimes it don’t. That’s why sometimes backup/delete/restore seem to fix some issues. This new button will search under the hood for: old desktops that remains in memory and they are not in the desktop list, folders not accessible by any shortcut, pictures (items’s data) of old deleted items (I’ve seen old icons in my backups), old deleted widget’s data (is this possible? ) and maybe some other things as well.

This will be something hard to do, I understand, but maybe it will be useful with betas/’bad’ releases, to fix data problems in a easy user-side. Maybe another solution will be as a separate app, maybe also as ‘something’ that takes backups, I don’t know.

Remember, just an idea, and maybe this can’t mix with your ideas for next releases.

v9.3

v9.3

Out of beta, at last !

Compared with the previous beta, this version includes the following modifications:

– fix item rotation in orientations other than the natural device orientation

– always limit drawing to the box (may affect items visibility when rotated)

– the “holo” selection effect is now the default, and the default box selection color is now 0xffffffff instead of 0x80ffffff.

I hope it will please everyone !

But that’s not all.

It took quite a long time for this version to reach a stable status for two reasons. The most important one is that I don’t have as much as time as I would like to work on LL, but this is not the only one.

The other reason is that I am conducting important architecture changes in another branch of the app, in order to reach a triple goal:

– allow a clean inheritance model,

– allow a much finer granularity when handling templates (merge desktops, load only styles, and so on),

– prepare foundations for scripting.

This “preliminary” work is nearing completion, so expect a new beta soon. But relax, I will wait a bit before to drop a new test version: I understand that it may become tiring to always live on the bleeding edge. Some stability is welcome sometime 😉

Pierre Hébert  This one is going to be tough to analyze as it is a bug linked to the Samsung Galaxy Gear:

Notification from the phone are sent to the gear automatically.

With LLx lockscreen, the notification are sent once when they occur. But for when turning on the screen, the notification is sent again to the watch. It’s like if displaying the lockscreen regenerate the notification.

I still have to check if this happens only with pop-up notification (DigiCal) or with all notification. I’ll post more comments if I can get more details.

There is a problem with the new per item rotation and panels.

There is a problem with the new per item rotation and panels.

I create a panel with 1×3 dimensions (3 is its height). Both the containing desktop and panel grid have the same parameters, the grid cells are square shaped.

I put two app shortcuts into the panel. The center home screen inside the panel is empty, one of the shortcuts is placed onto the middle cell of the left screen, and the other shortcut is placed onto the middle cell of the right screen in the panel. This way they aren’t visible normally.

Now set the auto rotate option of the panel item.

What happens that the two icons will nicely rotate into view when the phone is held sideways.

The problem is that they can’t be clicked.
