recently I decided to purchase and install yet another launcher just to see what it was about (only 2 of ìts kind) and to see if I can get some ideas for how to setup my llx. the worst part is that I spent almost $13 on the launcher. but that’s beside the point.

everyone knows that android 4.1 hates paid launchers and to fix that a launcher loader is needed to force the paid launchers to run as default. but that’s where I goofed. with the new launcher I forgot to configure the loader. that’s when I noticed something seriously strange….. android 4.1 loaded the new launcher as default without the need for any patch or loader. this promted a question : how the hell does TSF LAUNCHER work on 4.1 (my device) without a patch but no other launcher will? how do they do that? because if we can learn that secret we may be able to fix llx so it doesn’t need a loader or patch either. and no there’s no free version of that launcher either.

I remember bringing this up before but that was on position changed. needless to say I never did figure out how to get it working. but now I’m looking to use a swipe action, not a tap.

setting the stage : im trying to get the fade bookmark so when I swipe it fades to the saved point. so what I did was I set the tap to do nothing and the swipe to the fade bookmark script.

problem is instead of going to the saved spot it saves the new spot.

TO REPLICATE : place a shortcut to a llx action (run script) and choose the fade bookmark

long press the shortcut

change the actions (event tab)

set tap to do nothing and set swipe (i choose left) to the script instead)

now instead of tapping the shortcut I should be swiping (should now tell me to scroll to the spot I want saved but instead it tries to save the position).

how do I get this to work on a swipe action, not tap?

I’m not sure if this was ever in the launcher but I’ve recently had a use for it and it’s not there.

I’m talking about double tapping shortcuts and apps. when I go into customization options I see alot of options (press, long press, swipe, resume, pause, tap) but no double tap.

the reason I’m asking is because I wanted to have the app open on a single tap but open the folder with its widget in it on a double tap. perhaps there’s a reason it hasn’t been added into the list but it would be cool.

recently I was playing with a certain script that took my apps and shortcuts (and widgets but I didn’t add any) and put them in a rotating wheel in a panel. while turning the wheel (just goofing off I noticed that the wheel actually looked like a volume nob on a stereo (yes I was that bleeping bored ok?) and thought of something….

what if there was a script that when the wheel turned 1 way it turns media volume up and turned the other way it turns media volume down….. like a volume nob on a stereo?

come to think of it I’ve been looking for a widget that allows this (yes there are some but they require that I first click the widget as opposed to just turning the damn nob) but im yet to find one that doesn’t require a click action first. most stereos I’ve seen don’t require a click action so I don’t feel I should have to click a widget first before changing the damn volume, I don’t care what Googles policy is. but that’s beside the point

the point is the wheel looks like a volume nob and I just think it would be cool if that was possible. I’m placing (originally was planning… damn swipe) it in the discussion section because I just want to know what it looks like to you and what crazy ideas everyone had in mind. perhaps someone can even craft a script that does this who knows?

TrianguloY

TrianguloY

Pierre Hébert

recently I checked out another launcher to get ideas on how I can setup a similar theme. the idea uses a script to put apps and shortcuts into a wheel – like formation that I placed into a panel. this is where TrianguloY comes in (it was his script). for some unknown reason I can’t get the icons to stay the size that I specified, they keep getting in the way of each other. physically the icons look good but the hotspots won’t stay the size I specified. how do I fix it so they don’t go back to their original sizes? I noticed this when I tried to click the center icon (used only to add apps and shortcuts) and I kept opening an app. why? because the app kept overlapping the center shortcut. but then I noticed half the time even clicking an empty spot in the panel opened some apps because of this. I’ll post a comment with the url to the script because I cant recall the script I used.

also there’s a gap in the wheel I’m trying to close off but no matter what I do there’s still a gap. this isn’t a real problem right now but when I get done with my theme I’d like to close this gap. right now I’m trying to get the hotspots to stop growing back to their original sizes and just stay short (just the size of the icon please.

for Pierre Hébert: i just noticed that there was a fix in the stop points where when the point was reached it finally triggers the event (instead of having to overscroll and I thank you for that. now if I can fix it so it retracts when the event is triggered. I don’t know how to explain it better, sadly but I’m trying to make it so when the event is triggered it goes back into its original position and opens the app list. the only way I see this is with a script that uses a desktop bookmark and a custom user – action. it’s there a script I can use for this or can anyone make one?

again it’s hard to explain and since I can’t root my device its impossible to make the video showing everything.

in closing I hope I put this post in the right category. if not feel free to move it and explain why it belongs there. thank you all.

nice update by the way : lollipop

Recently I’ve found myself with a serious issue that not only prevented me from using the apps drawer but the playstore had very strange behavior as well.

Clicking the apps drawer did nothing at all and clicking the playstore button opened Google +. Neither of the 2 could be edited nor removed. At first I thought an app was glitching up and showing an overlay with a drunken attitude so I deleted the desktop and created another to no avail. I also found that whatever was screwing with my desktop was also affecting every app I went into.

I thought I’d reboot my device and when I did it completely reset the launcher back to fresh install.. If this is in fact a bug within the launcher it’s a crazy one I never knew could happen. But rebooting the device did fix the issue from what I can tell.

I don’t know what caused this so I don’t know if it can be repeated but to have had the launcher revert back to factory install is just too weird to ignore.

I think I found a bug but I’m not sure.

I think I found a bug but I’m not sure. I’m trying to set a widget so if I tap nothing happens but if I Swype down it loads the widget settings (launches item). Problem is tapping also launches the item and its not supposed to at all. I thought if I went into the zooper widget and locked the tap action that would help. Problem there is that Swyping down doesn’t do anything even though I specifically set it to launch the item. But if I go into the widgets settings and enable opening on tap LLX ignores the tap lock. How do I get LLX to do nothing when tapped but open the item on Swype down?

originally i was using the jellybean launcher loader to load llx by default on boot.

originally i was using the jellybean launcher loader to load llx by default on boot. well i found something better. this was never talked about until now and i found this by accident. at first glance it allows actions to be performed by pressing the home button followed by a 2nd button. what i found amazing is that you set this to run as your default launcher and because of this you have to choose which app to run when pressing just the home button.

this literally means that on boot you can have literally any launcher app open as the launcher. this works better than JBLL because it doesnt lose llx because it only opens as an app in itself.

this is especially great for those with menu and search keys (hardware or software).

this is a more detailed look into what i mean by how the icons get trashed.

this is a more detailed look into what i mean by how the icons get trashed. SC1 shows the original icon as set my the panel its in. the idea being that every icon that gets placed looks like that. notice the folder as it was just placed there. now look at SC2. i rename the folder and this is what i get. should NEVER happen seeing as i only changed the text, not the icon. in SC3 you see what happens when i manually put the icon pack after it changed when i renamed it. and SC4 is what i got after i tried to rectify that (SC4 is an older picture) With changing the icon pack in the containers item setting (in this case the panel – no i didnt do that this time im just explaining how SC4 came to be in the first place.

also when i got SC4 as the result i repeated the step it gave me thinking it was a minor glitch in the recent update and lkx crashed 4x. but this is what i did to get here.
