Below video is from +Jay M.
That shows opened webpage(bing.com) as like LL’s normal item
If you cant grap it easily, you can watch this video
http://youtu.be/HRhD8vTq1u8?t=1m20s
In Nexus5’s default Google launcher, we can also see google saerch(voice?) page like that.
I think this opened webpages are a little different to opening normal browser, it may be for routine simple webpage like search/weather/stock info…
Maybe this item or feature is not part of launcher’s and too difficult for adapting existing launcher strructures.. I have no idea..
I understand not of all feature suggestions are accepted, so I happen to suggest it. Just for challenging idea.
]]>Using item’s icon background/mask for circle/rectangle shapes.
Do you download and install pre-created iconset for circluar/reactangular app icons? Yes, it’s well designed, but it doesn’t provide my all-apps, right?
Using LL’s mask feature, we can have circular/rectangular( or hexagonal, or any shape you like) icons with app’s default one.
You might designe more sophiscated BG/mask image, however, just for enjoying this feature instantly, I uploaed circle/reactnagle images.
Adapting this doesn’t hurt your current desktop icons. If its not good, just set to “Default Icon”, that’s it.
How to adapt it
Goto Custumzing –> Current Desktop –> Items –> ICON
In menu, you see Background images and Mask menu in LAYERS part. In those, you choose each bg/mask image for circle or rectangle.
AND, you also see Inner scale menu in same menu part. Increase it to some value greather than 100%. I used 150%.
I think you could understand why we scale up default icon’s size.
I didnt use overlay image, because I have no good idea, but you may.
Pros: we don’t need to install extra iconpack which has limited one.
Cons: we scale up default icon a liittle, and it may dequalify images.
Wonderful LL~
]]>Is there anyone in hrere who knows android’s 9-patch system resource image zip file?
Now I don’t know where that url or related post is in here.
(searched but failed…) I googled some keywords but nearly most of results are related to creating 9-patches…
Anyone know?
]]>About newly added LL’s Rotation change event/action
I’m not sure this is a bug or something, but I think its abnormal, so I post it.
Some discussion
As of LL’s v8.7, we can use an event which is triggered when a phone is rotated (portrait <--> landscape).
At a post in this community, I saw Pierre Hébert ‘s answering about using 2 desktops to each rotation modes. Yes, it’s a really good idea, I dobout this implementation can be possible for other normal launchers.
So I’ve created it, and it looks good (not with squezed, overlapped icons, and broken widgets in landscape).
My humble conclusion is that portrait mode’s LL desktop is to be for a phone on a hand, landscape mode’s is to be for a phone on a real desk. Of course a phone is mobile, so main mode is portrait but why dont we LL users have a nicely pre-layouted landscape-designated homescreen?
Bug or something
To use LLs rotation change events, I found that a desktop’s Desktop Orientation(under Miscellaneous menu section) option shoud be set as Auto or System.
If I set it to Landscape or Portrait, that desktop doesnt react to rotation change events.(This is current version’s feature, not bug. but I think its not reasonalbe)
So I set desktop #1’s to Auto for portrait-designated mode, and desktop top #4 to also Auto for landscape-designated mode.
Desktop #2, #3 is set to Portrait. If then, these two desktops dosent rotate screen for tilting a phone.
1.
If I do Next Desktop action in a phone upright(portrait), all desktops are well visited. But
in a phone titled(landscape), desktops #2, #3 are skipped abruptly. It may be a bug.
2.
On switching between two desktops, if a folder is open, then re-switching makes items in that folder disorder/dis-align not as designed.
I tested the aboove case 2 using Tasker(phone automation app), and my guess is as follows.
When a phone is rotated, LL(or OS?) first rotates current desktop because its option is set as Auto.
In this stage, items in a open folder are displaced to a rotated mode, which means items positions are dis-aligned.
Next LL process Switching to port or land action, so directs designated desktops. In leaving current desktop, LL remembers items pisition in a folder.
After re-switching, items are shown dis-aligned.
3.
Blocking a propagation of rotation event(intent?).
In my case, desktop #2, #3 are set to Portrait as a value of “Desktop Orientation”. As said above, if a desktop is set not as Auto or System, under that desktop, it doesnt react to Switching to… action.
I understand its a policy of LL. But I guess LL also blocks a propagation of roation event to other APPS under that desktop. For example, if I used that rotation event in a Tasker, Tasker works well under other apps, but not under desktop #2, #3.
If my guess is right, can it be adjusted?
English is not my language, and my writing is too long and gibberish, I’d like to convey well my words.

]]>Hardware homebutton’s zoom 100% action doesnt work at sub-folder opened
You can watch this bug situation lik this.
Create a folder A in a desktop.
Create a child folder B in A.
Maybe your General –> Events&actions –> Home keys is likely to be set as “Go to home desktop, then zoom 100p” or “Zoom 100p”.
Ok. Open folder A, and move your underneath desktop page to not homepage.
Then if you tap Home key, your desktop will (go to homepage) and zoom 100%, right? Till now, no problem maybe.
(My virtualbox’s Android 4.1.1’s LL doesnt move/zoom at this situation, but Bluestacks Android ginger and my ICS phonne works)
Open folder A, child folder B, and then move your desktop page to not homepage. Then tap Home key.
On my phone and PC’s bluestacks/virtualbox, LL dosent driect to homepage/zoom 100p during subfolder opened.
BUT, if I put a LL’s shortcut which (goes to home and) zooms 100p, and if tapping that shortcut under situation like subfolder open and desktop page moved/zoomed, above problem doesn’t appear and works well.
This bug only appears when tapping hardware HOME key, I couldnt test software HOME key because I have no such devices.
]]>How about sharing template/APK by a desktop?
Currently, we can export selected desktops into APK, but we can’t import some desktops by selection.
In other words, we must APPLY/or import entire desktops provided by template/APK.
I am using 3 independent desktops, and if I meet some nice, beatiful, or experimental template/desktop/APK, I have to give up my current desktops. I have no method to add/combine new theme/template/APK into my current one.
I think this prevents freely creating/sharing templates becuase I have to give up mine.
Like I can select some desktops to export/share, Id like to be able to merge new desktop/theme into my current desktops.
Don’t forget we(LLX user?) can have 100 desktops 🙂
]]>Hi LL users~
How about Timeout feature?
LL can have very flexible layout, even diagonal scrolling is posible.
And LL preserves current/last screen position, so if we launch some app in desktop’s not-home page, and using that app, at last if we come back to laucher, we see last state of launcer, ie. not desktop’s home page.
This can be good or not good in some case. So if we can set Timeout(of XXX, I dont know proper term), after passing timeout-time without touching laucher, then LL moves current desktops page to home.
This feature is nearly essential for Car mode launcher, but others can be useful, I think.
