I recently upgraded to Lollipop and I have noticed when my phone screen sleeps it sends any  foreground app like chrome away when I turn the screen on so i’m back at the lightning desktop. incredibly anoying when im reading something and the phone sleeps on me because i have to go into recent tasks and pull it back up. It seems like before it would remain open. I use LL as my lock screen also ( have been for a while). I havent changed lightning settings but i did have to load a recent backup/template during the upgrade.

Disable lock screen

After playing with this for a while I wanted to turn it off but I cant figure out how.

I tried deleting the lock screen page and changing the screen on and off actions to unloc screen but I am running into issues with menu, back and home buttons not working.

Loaded LL on my moms phone an liked the free versions app drawer quite a bit. Tempted to switch back to the free version as I don’t think I use any of the llx extras.

Allow size as %

Allow size as %

Since the saved desktops are able to be installed on devices wit diffrent resolutions I believe they could benifet cross device with this.

Great for folder size and panels. Possibly other areas like font and icons if possible. Columns and rows pretty much already do this.

So are the panels going to have backrounds?

9 patch

For full theming is there a chance we could use 9patch for the desktop menue popup, the app picker popup that appears for sharing an image and the widget add menue?

The nine patch and apk themes

Do nine patch pings get included when you make an apk for a theme? Or do you need to give out a seperate file with the images and have the end user apply them?

Dynamic text.

Dynamic text.

There are currently not many dynamic text options in ll. Thats fine. If I want more dynamic text options I can use Minimalistic text.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.devmil.minimaltext

This post is to show the possibilities of things that can be displayed in dynamic text and also that it is unessary to add them into LLX bucause Minimalistic Text can already do them.

Minimalistic text adds a desktop widget with these values.

It adds dynamic text for:

Battery

Battery levels

Battery temprature

Battery voltage

Battery health?

Battery status

Battery level bar

Date

Year

Day

Month

Week number

Day of week

Day of week bar

External sd card free space

Update time.

I didn’t list everything but you can see the posibilities. There are usualy options to display a number as a number (7) or as a word (seven). The app is 3.5meg so its kind of hefty. But I prefer that heft in an optional package then a mandatory part of the launcher.

If you want more dynamic text options then here are more options.

Do you think you need dynamic text as part of the launcher or is app widget like this good?

Discuss!

I’ve noticed a lot of people put notifications on their desktops. Personaly I find I like to see them on the lockscreen easily but after that I find the notification bar at the top of the screen is more then sufficient. I do what I can to keep a clean un cluttered desktop.

Just my opinoin what are your thoughts?

Nice simple photo widget.

Nice simple photo widget.

You can use this to add photo backrounds to folders or desktop areas.

Alot of people have been asking for one of these. This one seems to work great. 340kb or so.

This looks like an interesting widget.

Can any one get it to work in LLX?
